MORE quality in ÖPNV -urbic® in use at ViP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH
On behalf of Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH and together with the colleagues from the traffic and technology department of the city of Potsdam, the project “MORE quality in public transport” was launched in a workshop from 26.03 to 27.03.2018 with urbic®.
The task of the workshop was to depict the first traffic signal systems and their quality specifications in the system. On the first day, the experts of the Dresden-IT GmbH together with the traffic planners of the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG showed how easy it is to enter the master data and quality specifications into the system. On the second day, the quality of the traffic signal systems could be analyzed and the results evaluated on the basis of supplied actual data/en/how-does-urbic-work/. During the workshop, quality assurance and improvement measures were discussed for the individual plants and coordinated with colleagues. Above all, it was convincing how fast and easy it was possible to transparently display the quality of its traffic lights.
The system was explained in detail in the workshop and all analysis possibilities were shown. At the end of the second day it was fully functional and handed over with real data connection into the hands of ViP’s colleagues.
The aim of this project is to put the system through its paces and to benefit from the results of urbic® already in this phase. Increased traffic quality benefits above all the citizens of the city of Potsdam and the customers of ViP and will certainly be noticeable.
IT-TRANS – International Conference and Trade Fair from 6 – 8 March 2018 in Karlsruhe
At the beginning of March IT-TRANS, the international conference and trade fair for public transport, took place in Karlsruhe. IT trends, innovations and intelligent solutions were introduced to trade visitors during the trade fair and during the accompanying conferences. It was an interesting and exciting week in which the Dresden-IT GmbH presented itself together with the partner companies of Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG and KAPRION Technologies GmbH and made good contacts. This year, the innovations surrounding the urbic® software solution – the online tool for MORE optimization and savings potential of traffic lights, intelligent traffic control systems and public transport – were the focus of many interesting conversations at the stand.

urbic® days 2017 ended successfully
From the 28th to the 29th of November the urbic days took place for the first time in Dresden. Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG and the Dresden-IT GmbH have invited users and interested transport companies to Dresden to get to know the SaaS solution urbic together. Impulse and technical lectures on content, further development and new features of the system provided an exciting time, which was rounded off by customer testimonials and research. All have spent interesting days with many opportunities for professional exchange and set trendsetting impulses for urbic.
The Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe are also about to start using urbic®
Almost a year ago, the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH got in touch with our urbic® team of experts from the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG and the Dresden-IT GmbH for a presentation of the system and to share experiences regarding acceleration of light signal systems. Further discussions led to the system being displayed and technical discussions taking place. All these negotiations finally resulted in an assignment last year. Today, urbic® is operating productively at the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe as a test run. After the workshops carried out for the system users at the beginning of January, the persons in-charge are now in a position to get acquainted with urbic® and use it in all its diversity. A start was made with the smallest stage of expansion and the system will now be built up gradually.
URBIC® speaks French
With the new customer LUXTRAM S.A., urbic® has established itself for the first time in another European country.
LUXTRAM S.A., a company in the public sector, has been assigned the job of conceptual design, construction and operation of the tram network in the city of Luxembourg. The goal is to expand the infrastructure of the city of Luxembourg and, above all, to make it more sustainable.
